Things you didn't know about me!

Casey's counts are at 5, you are probably wondering why. This is because his bone marrow is recovering from the first round of chemo. It is starting to make good blood cells. He also got a shot of epogen (this produces red blood cells). This means he is doing well. Here is a list of things you didn't know about Casey:

1. He doesn't like bugs (will wait for someone else to come and kill it).

2. Started a rafting company with a friend. The business is still going strong. (to bad he bailed out early).

3. He was bucked off a horse and landed on a rock and got knocked out.

4. Learned how to bare foot ski one summer and also learned how to take in lots of water.

5. Taught seminary at 6:00 am for one year.

6. Learned that he shouldn't ride other people's motorbikes as he didn't heed his brothers warning about how fast it really was. (All we saw was sparks flying and Casey heading for the neighbors front window.)

7. One of the first times we met, a group of us went swimming at the headgates at midnight. I was looking into the water when Casey pushed me in. I dove in and came up all bloody realizing the river was only 3 feet deep.

8. Killed the neighbors 4H projects. (Ran over four steers coming home one night).

9. Loves racing Ben when driving (even if it means putting my minivan in the ditch, with wife, kids, sister-in-laws and all of our Christmas presents).

10. Is totally deaf in his right ear, and very selective in his left ear.

Also, he can't wait to see all the people that have shaved their head!!! Thanks!

I am proud to say that I was a part of the minivan in the ditch experience. I am also proud to say that we are now the proud owners of that same minivan. It is still going strong!

Also,as if Casey killed the neighbors 4H projects. That is hilarious. Nate and I busted up laughing when we read that. Miss you guys tons.

Casey, Glad to hear things are good. I didn't realize we have 2 things in common--I also have selective hearing (according to my husband) and can't stand bugs!! I love the mohawk look and we feel so honored to be one of your favorite links!! Now that we're back in town, we'll have to stop by for another visit soon :)

Hooray for early morning Seminary teachers! That is one tough gig, but so worth it.

And four steers in one blow? That's like the fairy tale about the tailor who killed "seven in one blow" and was asked to save the town from a giant or something. Turns out his "seven" were really just flies, but nobody else needed to know that. Steers are definitely bigger than flies, so I'd say Casey can tackle just about anything.

Saw how successful the rafting company was in July-what a great idea!! Round two of chemo, eh? Sounds like you'll lick this round too! Glad you have such a strong support group with you there in Vegas. See you in Oct. Love, Ed and Luie

So out of curiosity - just what is it you're looking up on Craigslist?
And thanks for the personal info - some people will do anything to get out of teaching seminary.

Hey Guys,
I'm so glad to hear the positive prognosis. You both are very strong and Incredible people, I am grateful to know you both. Lani it was always a delight hanging out. Thanks for letting me be apart of this experience. Now go and give each-other loves and take care of yourselves.

To blog or not to blog, that is the question . . . . . Lani, you said I should try this, so here goes. Here is something you probably don't know about Daryl--he is pretty much deaf in his right ear (it's true) and doesn't always hear so great in his left ear. Oh, and has he ever shown you the trick he can do with his nose? Ask him about it.

Thanks for sharing your blog with us--it's really fun to read. Hang in there, we're praying for you.

I would love to hear more about the 4H steers- that's hillarious! In Idaho that's what we call "cow tipping"!

Casey,
Sam and I really enjoyed our visit with you today! You seemed to be in such good spirits! It was actually joyful (yea hard to believe I know) Sorry we missed you Lani we actually came there to see you.... but were stuck with Casey. But unlike the last visit he was actually awake during the whole visit! Good JOB! The monopoly threat kind of freaked us out a bit! Anyone out there who likes to play, Casey is up for a game! :] Ahah We love you guys! See ya soon!

Casey,

We had a great time visiting you last night. Thanks for letting all of us come. We are looking forward to you posting the pictures of you shaving Ben Gutierrez and John Parry. I'm sure the young men will never forget that mutual activity. Also, I'm sure the parents of the young men won't forget for a while either (we didn't get the boys home until almost 10:30pm). Good thing its still summer!

Thanks to our visit, I fear no one will come to clean your room. The combination of hair (mostly Ben's), orange pellets, and frosty cups all over the floor will not help with your reputation as an unclean guest.

For those who weren't there last night, imagine walking into a hospital room where the patient is standing up shaving a visitors' hair with clippers with 15 other young men and leaders laughing and watching in the room. This was the sight Casey's poor nurse entered to, and then imagine Casey, with clippers in hand, inviting her to be next. I've never seen a nurse exit so quickly. Casey has found, in my opinion, the most effective way to get his nurses to leave him alone!

Again, thanks Casey. You are an inspiration to the young men in our ward, and to us leaders, too.

Casey,
In lieu of all the shaving going on, I shaved MY BACK for you today.

Lani,
NO MORE SLING STORIES!!!
Casey, please reinforce this request with your wife.

Lani and Casey - we saw three awfully cute children at Suessical the Musical Wednesday night. They had gone with Jody and they said everyone is taking good care of them and making sure they have lots of fun things to do. I think Sam slept through most of the show -even the applause and hoopla at the end

Casey, you never seem to have a dull moment, I bet lying in that bed has made you think of what an exciting life you have led thus far. What other adventures and things can you run over? I'm sure that you have already thought of some!
As for the bald head, you could add Henry to that list but he is just barely starting to get hair so I don't know if I could shave it, or if he would even let me. Take care and we are always thinking of you guys, we love you tons!
