Christmas in Seattle

It was a great Christmas in Seattle. The kids had fun and played with their toys all day long. Sam was excited as Santa ate all the cookies and the Rain Deer ate all of the carrots, I think that five year-olds have the best time at Christmas. The other major benefit was we missed out on the Johnson-Kempton flu epidemic.

Update on my health. I met with the Doc's today and I have a fungus and three viruses and an bacterial infection all in my lungs. This should be remedied by the amount of pills that they have given me to battle such ailments. The infusion of Ty's Lymphocytes should happen sometime next week, they want to get me in a little better shape. The fungus is going away, slowly, very slowly. The viruses they are going to let them run their course. As for the Bacterial infection they are going to treat it with antibiotics. I thought it would be some sort of fancy antibiotic but plan old amoxicillin will do the trick.

It is cold and rainy here now and we are expecting some snow tonight.

After all is told I hope all who were infected with the Johnson flu bug will have a speedy recovery.

Thanks again for all of the responses to my blog it is so fun to hear from everyone.

Casey

Hey Casey its so awesome to hear you were able to be with your family for Christmas. It sounds like you guys are having a great time together. Ive been checking your blog from time to time and was told by your mother in law that I should leave a message for you. I would have done so sooner but I guess Im one of those older non-techno guys. I didnt even know what a blog was until I checked out yours. I think its so cool that we can stay updated to the happenings in your life. Just thought Id let you know how wonderful it was to spend some time with your children at the Martin reunion in August. Other than getting drenched several times by the kids and getting used as a target for the egg toss and it taking twenty some odd hours to get to Rigby, it was a blast. Our family is doing good and we love and miss you guys big time. Just glad Im not on your list of "those you would like to see bald" as I am well on my way there. We had Grandma Martin with us this Christmas and as usual she kept us on our toes. We have about eight inches of snow here in Edmonton and it has been an average winter temperature wise (brrrrrrrrr). My wife just informed me we need to plug cars in for the next few nights as things will be getting even colder. It seems like forever since we last saw you so thought an update might be in order. Kent is now twenty four and working with me and lives just a few blocks from us. Shawn is twenty two and living at home while attending N.A.I.T. in the archetectural engineering program where he is on the deans honour role. Matt is Twenty and still at home as he is enjoying his job at Costco. Tyler turns nineteen in March and has been working with me to save up $$$$ for his mission and is living at home. Amanda is fifeteen going on twenty one and I have to hire extra help to keep the boys away. Haha. She is such a beautiful young woman. You would surely agree she gets none of that from me. Shirley has been a stay at home mom for tha past four months as she had some surgery and isnt very excited about going back to work. Cant say as I blame her. We are all enjoying the Christmas break together and look forward to getting in some skiing in Banff. Casey we really do appreciate how up to date you keep all of us through your blog. Seattle is a beautiful place-to visit. Last time our family was there we visited a place called Snoqualeme falls (not sure on that spelling) and it was well worth the drive. Im sure if you asked somebody where it is they would be able to give you directions. Gotta love Pikes Market hey. Every time ive gone there its been a good experience. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and want you to know we love you like crazy. Hang in there n keep on keepin on. The Martins (The Edmonton Klan).

Casey & Lani,
The Canadian Rockies today were beautiful with a clear blue sky. The wind was blowing, from the west, so the cool/cold wind made a person thankful for a warm home or car. So thankful we didn't have to go to Cardston by horse and buggy.
So glad that you could be together as a family for the Holidays.
Good luck at getting those lungs cleared out.
So glad for the blog and able to keep up todate of what is happening. Modern tecnology has it's usefullness.
You are in our prayers daily.
Uncle Don & Aunt Pat

Glad to hear you'll soon be fungus free! How long are the kids staying up there with you- and is Lani staying the whole time also?

There's a bench on the north side of the chapel about half way up that should have your family sitting in it. Hope the treatments are successful and you're all back as soon as possible. Happy New Year.

Hey Casey & Lani, my mom told me about your blog a while back and I've been meaning to check it out. I'm glad that you're doing better and that you were all together for Christmas.
Tracy and I are in New Mexico right now visiting Brian and Lyle and their families. We will be heading back to Idaho in a couple of days. Things are going well for us. I will finish my masters degree this spring and then I will be applying for administrative positions this summer.
I hope you continue to improve and that you are able to go home soon. Happy New Year! Hope 2008 is a great year for you.

I'm glad your kids were able to be with you for Christmas. Small and quiet is sometimes a good thing although I know what you mean about not being able to play all of the group games. I hope you get over your infections soon and that you will have good luck in the new year. As always, you're in our prayers. We love you guys!

Hi Casey,

We are back in Florida from our Christmas trip to the farm. It's as cold here right now as it was there! Your dad came down with Grammy to visit one night. It was sure fun to see him.

Aerie was sealed to us in the Cardston Temple on December 28th, and we're glad to have that all finished now. It was really neat.

I'm glad your kids got to spend Christmas with you, and that Santa was able to eat all the cookies. :-) Aerie was terrified of Santa this year, but maybe when she gets bigger, he'll be less frightening.
