9th Week!

Nothing much has changed, but we thought you all might like an update. He has just started his 9th week. They are giving him a steroid to help produce his white blood count which is called leukine. We hope this comes back clean without leukemia. They are not sure what treatment he will get when he gets out of here. Our new latest hospital entertainment is a game called "Ticket To Ride". It is a very fun and entertaining game. If you have any other game ideas please let us know so we can enjoy them the last hopefully weeks we will be in here.

I am glad you guys are liking that game. We'll have to play again we we come see you in Nov.

As for the game "snake", someone is in the middle (the snake) and has to try and lick everyone. Everyone else has the big pillows and is trying to keep the middle person away. If you get licked, you are out. If the person in the middle hisses, that means they give up. Does that sound right? How did we (I mean you), come up with these games?

For those that are reading this comment, I am not suggesting Lani and Casey try this in the hospital. It is only an answer to a question Lani had. Have you tried Skipbo? That is a classic we like.

Never heard of "Ticket to Ride" but sounds fun. Maybe play pin the tail on the nurse or you could do a scavenger hunt around the hospital!

Isn't it the law that if you are a Nish, you have to play Rook?

We like Phase 10, Uno, and similar "classics." We also really like Scene It, but we don't actually play the game. We just watch all the video clips and try to answer the questions. If you have a big group, Apples to Apples is fun.

Casey, we hope you get out of there soon!

Is "Ticket to Ride" the game you and Aaron played that one night when Lani caught you?
As for the game "snake", I thought my family did some strange things but I'm starting to think we are pretty normal. jk.
What about "hand and foot" , "mad gab", or Mormon Bridge?
Hang in there Casey.

"Ticket to Ride" is our favorite game! Ty is studying Canada in 3rd grade and he was excited to name all the major cities in southern Canada. (We won't tell his teacher it's because we're game junkies!)

"Rook" is also a Mortensen favorite but it has resulted in a few violent outbursts that frightened our children so we haven't played in a while.

Glad to hear you're doing well!

Hey Casey,
We just wanted you to know that we are still thinking about you and following how you are doing. You guys are in our prayers. I can now officially leave a comment because I switched to a google account (although I am sure I could have done it earlier, but I wasn't sure how) Lani, we hope you are doing well also. I liked the story about the wedding. It sounds like your weddings are much more eventful than ours are. Good Luck. Keep in touch.
