Two Week Stay

I have spent the last couple of weeks in the hospital (FUN). After the last round of chemo I got a infection which landed me in the hospital. It was my port that got infected so they had to remove the port. They then put a central line in my neck with three ends poking out, I look like I have a small bush growing out of my neck. This is only temporary until I get a new port put in, then I will have a bush growing out of my chest...at least it won't be out in the open. The nurses at the hospital were great. Most of the nurses came by to say hi and check on me. I don't know if it is a good thing to be on a first name basis with the all of the nurses on an entire floor.

We have found a place to stay in Seattle. When we get there is a another story. This hospital stay may have put this trip off until next week. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Not much exciting to report as I have not been anywhere.

PIC lines, portacatheters, sub-clavions...yuck, yuck, and double yuck. We are sending many prayers your way. In the meantime, learn to knit. I hear it's all the rage.

I saw Andrew's wannabe shaved head on their blog and read about you. One of my best friends was diagnosed with Leukemia in September (courtneysbattle.blogspot.com)so I can only imagine what your family has been going through. We'll put you in our prayers right after Courtney. Also, I have another friend who had a BMT in Seattle about 15 years ago when no one else would touch her. She is still alive and kicking. Good luck!

Well, hello there. This is your wonderful nurse Tricia!! Billie told me about your blog, so I hope you don't mind that I am leaving a comment. I am so happy you got to leave-although sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. Very Very happy to hear you are on your way to Seattle. Stay away from sick people and don't let anyone icky be your nurse. Oh...and if you ever see another nurse use a glove from the floor, by all means, don't let let her touch you. :) All my wishes and prayers to you and your family. Have a safe trip!!

Last night I forgot it was fast Sunday today, so as I was getting ready this morning I asked my 5 year old Laurene what I should fast for today. "Casey" instantly popped out of her mouth. So at our house today, Casey it is. We are continually fasting and praying for Casey. When you're all fixed we'll have to take up a new cause. We're stopping in to Vegas in January for a family wedding- too bad you'll be in Seattle!
